The Indian Embassy in Doha on Thursday said around 700 Indian nationals returned to India from Qatar on two Qatar Airways flights earlier in the day. One flight travelled to Delhi and the other to Mumbai, while some passengers continued onward to other destinations.
The embassy added that Qatar Airways is likely to operate one or two flights to India daily in the coming days to assist those wishing to travel back.
The embassy also informed that Indian nationals in Qatar who want to leave the country still have two options. They can take the limited number of Qatar Airways flights currently operating, or exit Qatar through the Salwa land border into Saudi Arabia if they hold a valid Saudi visa.
For those who were visiting Qatar and wish to leave through Saudi Arabia, the embassy said it is helping arrange temporary transit visas. These visas will be valid for 96 hours. Indian nationals can register for this facility through a link shared on the embassy’s social media channels.

The embassy further announced that it will remain open on Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14, to address the needs of Indian citizens. Officials will especially assist with urgent passport renewals under the tatkal service.
At the same time, the Indian mission urged the community to follow advisories issued by the Qatari authorities. These advisories confirm that markets across the country remain stable and essential goods are available at retail outlets. People have been requested to act responsibly, not fall for rumours, and avoid unnecessary stockpiling. Citizens have also been advised to purchase only what is required for their immediate needs.
