Bill Maher complained about certain Donald Trump critics on his recent podcast episode, claiming that people are so obsessed with Trump that they make their hated of him their “whole personality.”

On Monday’s episode of Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, the comedian told guest John Stamos that the way Trump has dominated the national conversation “for over a decade” is a “phenomenon we have never seen before.”

“Every conversation, every dinner, every fucking thing…” the “Full House” actor agreed.

Maher then declared that obsessing over Trump is something that the president’s critics have to “fight.”

“Like I say, if that’s your whole personality — [and] the first thing out of your mouth is, ‘What are we going to do about Donald Trump?’ — I just can’t,” he said. “I can’t.”

After Stamos interjected to tell Maher that “he doesn’t have the answer” to the question of how the nation can shift its focus, the podcaster agreed.

“But people think you do [have the answer],” the actor said.

“I can’t get away from these people,” Maher replied before veering into a conversation about celebrities he’s met.

The topic arose after Stamos brought up Maher’s controversial dinner with Trump, UFC head Dana White and musician Kid Rock at the White House earlier this year.

After telling Stamos that the Trump he met in April was “extremely different” than what he had expected, he argued that America “would do a lot better to have more people like me talking to [Trump].”

“Maybe I’m the Trump whisperer… He’s a guy from New York, OK?” Maher added. “He doesn’t want to be with a bunch of fucking rednecks and simpletons, you know? Does he like ass-kissers? Yes, he does.”
