Stirring another row, Canadian Security Intelligence Service’s recent report which was made public on Saturday has alleged “Indian interference and espionage" in 2025.

Canada continues to make accusations without any clear evidence, ignoring that it has become a safe haven for separatists promoting violence against India, said Indian intelligence sources.

“Western nations including gurudwaras in Canada routinely conduct activities against India, including Referendum. These new charges are driven by domestic Canadian politics, particularly pressure from vocal Khalistani separatist lobbies in Canada," they said.

What the report said

It admitted that Canada has presence of supporters of Khalistan separatist movement. The report alleged that India does transnational repression activity to create fear in community. It supports Khalistan separatism, stating that “non-violent advocacy for creation of Khalistan is not considered extremism".

What Indian intelligence sources say

“Canada is struggling with its own failure to curb extremist elements on its soil and they are doing anti-India activities with Pakistan from Canadian soil. In the name of civil liberty, Canadians are allowing everyone to work against India, including Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who is collecting money and tasking youth in India," they said.

“Multiple LRs are pending in Canada which they have not complied with even once," said sources.

“The report is vague and allegations of covert relationships are given without presenting clear public evidence," they added.
