ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence chatbot owned by Sam Altman’s OpenAI, faced a disruption on Monday, with thousands of users reporting issues across multiple regions.

According to data from Downdetector, user reports showed problems with ChatGPT on Monday. Downdetector data shows a sudden surge in reports at around 7:40 pm on April 20, 2026, reaching its highest with 828 reports at 8:03 pm.
