A US military investigation has found that the American military was responsible for the missile strike on an elementary school in Iran that killed more than 160 girls.

China on Friday announced that it will donate $200,000 to the parents of students killed in what it called an “indiscriminate" missile strike on a school in Iran in the opening salvo of the US-Israeli campaign against the Islamic Republic.
A video surfaced showing a Tomahawk cruise missile striking a girls’ elementary school in Iran’s southern Minab county, where 165 schoolgirls were among a total of 175 people killed. The entire school collapsed on the children and teachers.
Beijing’s foreign ministry said the Chinese Red Cross Society will donate $200,000 in emergency humanitarian assistance to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, specifically for “condolences and compensations" to the parents of dead students. Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun called the strike a “severe violation" of international humanitarian law.
“Attacks on schools and children constitute a more severe violation of international humanitarian law and breach the bottom line of human conscience and morality," Guo told reporters at a regular news briefing. “China stands ready to continue providing necessary assistance to Iran in a humanitarian spirit to support the Iranian people through this difficult time."
‘Targeting Mistake’
This came after a military investigation found the United States responsible for the deadly missile attack on the Iranian school due to a targeting mistake, the New York Times reported on Wednesday.

Officers at the US Central Command created the target coordinates for the strike using outdated data provided by the Defence Intelligence Agency, according to people briefed on the investigation. The “target coding" provided by the US Defence Intelligence Agency mistakenly labelled the school building as a military target when it was passed to US Central Command.
US President Donald Trump has so far denied responsibility and instead blamed Iran for the attack. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said the attack was likely carried out by Iran itself. He has also denied knowledge of the US military investigation.
India Expresses Grief
Meanwhile, India has officially expressed its grief over the deaths of children in the bombing of a school in Iran, reiterating its steadfast call for the protection of all non-combatants.
“As far as the question of the school children you talked about is concerned… we have issued several statements on the ongoing conflict. We have underlined the need for prioritising the safety of all civilians. We regret the precious lives lost and express our grief in that regard," said Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.
The Indian leadership has repeatedly asserted the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve tensions in West Asia, following US-Israeli strikes on Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory attacks on the Gulf, which houses a major chunk of the Indian diaspora.
