CNN’s Erin Burnett on Monday laid bare what she described as President Donald Trump’s calculated bid to distract his MAGA base from the growing controversy surrounding the unreleased Epstein files.
The president is flooding his social media platform with what Burnett called “shiny objects” instead of addressing growing calls from supporters to release federal records related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, his onetime close friend.
Burnett pointed to a barrage of weekend posts on Trump’s Truth Social account, ranging from NFL team name change rants and slams of Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to that unhinged AI video showing former President Barack Obama being arrested in the Oval Office.
“Putting all these things out there, this variety of topics — it’s like spaghetti against the wall,” Burnett said.
