Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council of Iran, issued a sharp warning in response to remarks by Donald Trump regarding potential strikes on Iran’s electricity infrastructure.
Referring to Trump’s statement, Larijani said, “Trump has said ‘we can take apart Iran’s electric capacity within one hour, but we have not done it.’"
He further warned that any such move would have wider consequences across the region, stating, “Well, if they do that, the whole region will go dark in less than half an hour and darkness provides ample opportunity to hunt down US servicemen running for safety."
The exchange comes at a time of heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with both sides trading strong statements amid an escalating regional security crisis.

Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that any attack on the country’s infrastructure or nuclear facilities would be met with retaliation targeting US military bases and assets in the Middle East.
US President Donald Trump said the United States has the capability to severely damage Iran’s infrastructure if the conflict between the two countries escalates, though he indicated that Washington would prefer not to take such a step.
Speaking to reporters after arriving at Joint Base Andrews following a political visit to Kentucky and Ohio, Trump warned that the US military could dismantle Iran’s electricity system very quickly if it chose to do so.
“We could take apart their electric capacity within one hour. And it would take them 25 years to rebuild it," Trump said. “So ideally we’re not going to be doing that."
During the interaction with journalists, Trump described Iran’s military position as significantly weakened following US military operations.
“Iran is being absolutely decimated. That’s all I can say," he said, adding that the war was being conducted “as well as anybody has ever seen."
The US President also said that several governments had privately voiced their support for the US campaign, though he did not identify the countries involved. According to Trump, some foreign leaders had conveyed their backing in private conversations as the conflict continues to develop.
