Newly released medical records show that Jeffrey Epstein suffered from chronically low testosterone levels and a history of sexually transmitted infections, according to documents included in the latest release by the Department of Justice. Laboratory results from multiple years indicated Epstein’s testosterone levels ranged from 125 to 142 nanograms per deciliter- well below the 300 ng/dL threshold that the American Urological Association considers a deficiency.
In correspondence with physicians, Epstein acknowledged these levels had remained “the same for ten years." The disgraced financier expressed concerns about the condition in a 3 a.m. email to a doctor in April 2015, questioning whether his low testosterone “has caught up to me." Despite medical recommendations to begin hormone therapy with medications such as Clomid, Epstein discontinued treatment in 2016, citing adverse side effects including water retention and weight gain.
Medical tests also revealed Epstein had contracted gonorrhea and other infections. In a 2016 email to a New York physician, Epstein detailed positive test results for parasites and sexually transmitted disease, noting he had received antibiotic treatment. The records additionally showed Epstein received unsolicited marketing emails for enhancement products and had inquired about sperm preservation procedures.
Epstein died in federal custody in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. These medical details emerged as part of the much broader release of documents from the US Department of Justice’s Epstein Files, a sprawling archive of investigative records the government has been publishing under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Federal authorities have disclosed millions of pages of files, including emails, photos, videos and communications tied to Epstein’s investigations over decades from court records and grand‑jury materials to travel logs and electronic correspondence.
