Ex-Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax shoots wife before turning gun on himself in Virginia home: Police

Former Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax allegedly shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself in a murder-suicide at their home in Annandale, Virginia, police said Thursday.

Fairfax County police said the incident occurred shortly after midnight. Authorities stated that Fairfax shot his wife multiple times in the basement of their residence, then went to the primary bedroom upstairs and fatally shot himself.
