Indian nationals will no longer need an airport transit visa when travelling through Germany to another country, the German Embassy in New Delhi said on Tuesday.
The decision was published in the Federal Law Gazette and will come into effect from June 3 (Wednesday).
Until now, Indian passengers transiting through German airports were required to hold a special airport transit visa in certain cases. The new rule removes this requirement, making layovers in Germany easier for Indian travellers heading to third countries.
