A 28-year-old Indian man died under mysterious circumstances during a music festival in Phuket, Thailand, in the early hours of January 18, authorities said. According to a report by the Bangkok Post, the incident took place during the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), a three-day international music festival in Cherng Talay, leaving both local and international attendees shocked.

Police said there were no visible injuries or signs of assault on the body. The deceased has been identified as Jain Saksham, an Indian national.

Preliminary investigations suggest Saksham attended the festival and later went to a nearby parking area, where he reportedly climbed onto a parked pickup truck and displayed disoriented and agitated behaviour.

He allegedly damaged several parked vehicles along Bandon–Choeng Thale Road, prompting concern among bystanders.

Emergency responders rushed him to Thalang Hospital after he was found in an erratic condition. Doctors said he was in shock and lost consciousness shortly after admission. Despite medical efforts, he died soon after, with the exact cause of death remaining unclear.

Police said there were no signs of violence or external injuries, and due to the unclear circumstances, an autopsy has been ordered at Vachira Phuket Hospital to determine the cause of death. Authorities are examining possibilities, including substance abuse or an underlying medical condition.

According to Asean Now, the Indian embassy is in contact with local authorities, and Saksham’s family will be informed. After the autopsy is completed, relatives will be able to collect the body and carry out religious rites.
