Iran’s state-affiliated broadcaster Press TV has reported that parts of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) headquarters in Tehran were targeted in what it described as US-Israeli strikes.
In a post shared on X, an Iranian media handle Press TV said, “Moments ago, US-Israeli forces targeted parts of the IRIB headquarters in Tehran." The report was accompanied by a video showing thick plumes of smoke rising over a section of the city skyline at night. The footage appears to capture an explosion followed by a column of dark smoke, though the exact location and extent of the damage have not been independently verified.
There has been no immediate confirmation from US or Israeli officials regarding the alleged strike on the broadcasting facility. Iranian authorities have also not released detailed information about casualties or structural damage.
IRIB serves as Iran’s state media network and plays a central role in official communications and national broadcasting. Any confirmed strike on such a facility would mark a significant development amid the escalating conflict.
The reported targeting comes as hostilities between Iran and US-Israeli forces continue to intensify, with missile exchanges, air defence interceptions and attacks on strategic infrastructure reported across the region.
Officials have urged the public to rely on verified sources as the situation remains fluid and further details emerge.
