Kerala Expat Wins Rs 64 Crore Abu Dhabi Lottery After Six Years Of Buying Tickets

Dubai based Indian driver Abdul Rasheed Allipra Valappil Abdu wins Dh25 million Big Ticket Abu Dhabi jackpot, fellow Keralite Asharaf Abdulla wins a Land Rover Defender.

A Dubai-based Indian expatriate has struck it rich after winning the Dh25 million (around ₹64.6 crore) grand prize in the latest Big Ticket Abu Dhabi draw.

As reported by Siyasat Daily, Abdul Rasheed Allipra Valappil Abdu, a 48-year-old driver originally from Kerala, won the jackpot with ticket number 012318, which he purchased on April 19.

Abdu has been living in Dubai for 17 years while his family remains in India. He has also been a regular participant in the Big Ticket draw for the past six years.

Speaking about the moment he found out, Abdu said the win came as a complete surprise while he was spending time with friends. “I’m very happy. It was a special moment to find out while I was with my friends," he said.

He added that he plans to consult his family and friends before deciding how to use the prize money, and intends to continue participating in future draws.

Another Indian Expat Wins Dream Car

In a separate win, Asharaf Abdulla, a 41-year-old driver based in Abu Dhabi and also from Kerala, won a Land Rover Defender in the Dream Car category.

Abdulla has been living in the UAE for 16 years and has been participating in the draw for nearly nine years.

“I’m very happy, it was completely unexpected," he said, adding that a friend had encouraged him to buy the ticket.

For the past three years, Abdulla has been part of a group of 40 participants, along with involvement in two other groups. He said he plans to share the prize among the group members.

New Offers Announced For May Draw

Organisers also announced a refreshed set of promotions for the upcoming May draw.

The headline prize for the next round stands at Dh20 million, with the winner set to be announced on June 3. Additional prizes include “The Big Win" rewards of up to Dh600,000, weekly e-draws totalling Dh400,000, and luxury car giveaways.
