Pakistan Navy aids Indian vessel MV Gautam in Arabian Sea after technical failure, providing food, medical and technical support to seven crew.

The Pakistani Navy reportedly provided humanitarian assistance to the crew of an Indian vessel stranded in the Arabian Sea after a critical technical failure, according to a report by Dawn citing security sources.

The Indian vessel MV Gautam with six Indian nationals and one Indonesian national on board, was travelling from Oman to India when it suffered a technical fault, leaving it stranded at sea.

The Pakistan Navy launched a rescue and support operation after the Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre in Mumbai contacted authorities in Islamabad and requested assistance.

The stranded crew was provided emergency support, including food, medical aid and technical assistance, while efforts to assist the vessel were continuing, the report said.

The Gulf Times shared the video of the rescue mission on X, where the Pakistan Navy’s boat can be seen helping MV Gautam’s crew members.

Last month, Pakistan said its navy ​had rescued and ‌evacuated 18 crew members of ​a merchant vessel ​operating in the northern Arabian Sea ​after a distress ​call.
