The IRGC navy responded to President Trump pausing the "Project Freedom" and said the safe and stable transit through the key waterway could be possible.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ Navy on Wednesday said safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible after the US suspended its new “Project Freedom," an operation to help guide commercial ships through the strait.

United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced a temporary pause on “Project Freedom," while asserting that the blockade will remain fully in place as Washington continues peace talks with Iran.

He further stated that negotiations with Iranian representatives have made “great progress" and moved closer to a “complete and final agreement".

According to The Guardian, the IRGC navy responded to Trump pausing the “Project Freedom" and said the safe and stable transit through the key waterway could be possible. It, however, did not specify what the new procedures entailed but thanked owners and captains of ships for respecting Iranian regulations when moving through the waterway.

Meanwhile, in a social media post on Wednesday, Trump said the war could end if “Iran agrees to give what has been agreed ⁠to".

“Assuming Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to, which is, perhaps, a big assumption, the already legendary Epic Fury will be at an end, and the highly effective Blockade will allow the Hormuz Strait to be OPEN TO ALL, including Iran," he wrote on Truth Social.

“If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before," Trump added.

As per Trump, the “Project Freedom" is a combination of maritime security and humanitarian assistance and is aimed at ensuring safe passage for stranded ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

Shortly after the operation began, Iran launched drone attacks targeting locations in the United Arab Emirates, including a major oil storage facility. Oman also reported attacks near the UAE border, while a South Korean vessel was reportedly hit.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi openly criticised the operation. “Project Freedom is Project Deadlock," he wrote on X. “Events in Hormuz make clear that there’s no military solution to a political crisis."
