Donald Trump was mockingly branded a “petulant child” by critics on social media after withdrawing an invitation for Canada to join his so-called “Board of Peace.”

The president revoked the offer after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney used a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos to essentially criticise powerful nations for bullying smaller ones.

“Please let this letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada’s joining what will be the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever assembled, at any time,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.”

Critics accused Trump of “pettiness” and “immaturity” and likened the move to “a preteen angrily uninviting someone from what they insist will be the party of the year.”

When a proposal lacks legitimacy, declining it isn’t a loss. Canada remains committed to multilateral institutions grounded in law, not theatrics.
Also, You can’t be “uninvited” from something you already declined.

What @realDonaldTrump doesn’t realize is that this is all make-believe. To create a new charter or treaty, you need 2/3 approval from Congress. So basically, he just took a billion dollars from each of these DICTATORS to belong to an imaginary club. What could go wrong? 🤷🏼♂️ 🤔 https://t.co/JOODDhhVMT

The petulance, the pettiness, the immaturity.... also known as exactly what we already knew about this guy

This has such strong "you can't fire me, I quit!" vibes 🤷♂️🤦♂️ https://t.co/gx9SOuyDEY

So Russia is fine, but not Canada

Only a narcissistic man-baby like Trump would uninvite our closest ally from his make-believe 'Board of Peace' because their leader bruised his delicate ego. The 'most prestigious' club of strongmen excludes democracies—shocking.

I have a hunch PM Mark Carney isn't concerned about passing up the peace board gig.

Seems as legit as an invite to Trump University.
