Pixel 9 vs Pixel 10: Specs, price, features — how different are the two Google flagships?

Google has launched its Pixel 10 series in India powered by the Tensor G5 chipset and running on the latest Android 16 OS. The vanilla Pixel 10 model continues to be the cheapest Google flagship with a price tag of ₹79,999 and will suceed last year's Pixel 9 in the lineup. 

But has Google really provided a big upgrade with the Pixel 10 or is the new device just limited to incremental upgrades, let's find out in this comparison. 

Pixel 9 vs Pixel 10: What's different, what's not? 

Display: 

Both the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 comes with the same 6.3-inch OLED Actua display with 60-120Hz refresh rate and a 1080 x 2424 resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. However, the Pixel 10 comes with a higher peak brightness of 3,000 nits and a High Brightness Mode (HBM) of 2,000 nits compared to the 2,700 nits peak brightness and 1,800 nits HBM on the Pixel 9.

Battery: 

The biggest uprage to the Pixel 10 comes in the battery department with the new Pixel device coming with a 4970mAh setup compared to the 4,700mAh battery on its predecessor. 

As for charging, the Pixel 10 supports slightly faster 30W of wired fast charging compared to the 27W charging speed on the Pixel 9. The wireless charging speed remains the same 15W, the Pixel 10 now support Qi2 wireless charging standard. 

Camera: 

The cameras on the Pixel 10 have taken a major hit - for the most part - compared to the Pixel 9. The primary and ultrawide ange lens are now 48MP and 13MP compared to the 50MP primary and 48MP ultra-wide angle lens on the Pixel 9. The front also hasn't received any upgrade and continues to be the same 10.5MP shooter with autofocus support from Pixel 9. 

The silver lining here is the addition of a 10.8 telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom which is the same shooter found on the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. 

Processor: 

While the Tensor G5 isn't going to be the next the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite or Apple A18, but it still is an incremental upgrade over the Tensor G4 found on the Pixel 9. The new chipset, Google claims comes with a 60% faster TPU and 34% faster CPU than the last generation. 

Pixel 9 vs Pixel 10 price: 

Pixel 9 now starts at a price of ₹74,999 in India while the Pixel 10 begins at a price of ₹79,999. Both the models come with the same 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage with the base variant.
