PM Modi To Visit UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Italy From May 15-20 For Bilateral Talks

MEA has released the detailed schedule of PM Modi's multi-country visit, which will also include participation in the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy from May 15 to 20 for a series of bilateral meetings, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Monday.

The visit will focus on trade, investment, energy cooperation, defence, technology, green transition and regional issues. PM Modi is also scheduled to meet the top leadership of all five countries during the tour.

The MEA released the detailed schedule of the Prime Minister’s multi-country visit, which will also include participation in the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo.

UAE Visit

PM Modi will begin his visit in the United Arab Emirates on May 15, where he will meet UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders are expected to discuss energy cooperation, trade and investment ties, and regional and international developments.

The visit will also focus on expanding trade and investment ties between the two countries. The UAE is India’s third-largest trade partner and hosts an Indian community of over 4.5 million people.

Netherlands Visit

In the second leg of the tour, PM Modi will visit the Netherlands from May 15 to 17 at the invitation of Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. During the visit, Modi will meet King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima and hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Jetten.

Discussions are expected on defence, security, semiconductors, green hydrogen, innovation and water management cooperation. The Netherlands is among India’s largest trade partners in Europe and one of the country’s top foreign investors.

Sweden Visit

PM Modi will travel to Gothenburg, Sweden, on May 17 and 18 for talks with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. The two sides are expected to review cooperation in trade, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, defence, climate action and resilient supply chains.

The two leaders will also jointly address the European Round Table for Industry alongside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Norway Visit

From May 18 to 19, PM Modi will visit Norway for the 3rd India-Nordic Summit and bilateral engagements. This will be his first visit to Norway and the first Prime Ministerial visit from India to the country in over four decades.

In Oslo, Modi will meet King Harald V, Queen Sonja and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. He will also address the India-Norway Business and Research Summit.

The India-Nordic Summit will bring together leaders from Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Sweden to discuss cooperation in technology, renewable energy, sustainability, defence, space and the Arctic region.

Italy Visit

In the final leg of the tour, PM Modi will visit Italy from May 19 to 20 at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. He will meet Italian President Sergio Mattarella and hold talks with Meloni.

Discussions are expected on trade, investment, defence, clean energy, science and technology, and implementation of the India-Italy Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029.
