Just about 6 months after the launch of its Realme 15 Pro series, Realme has confirmed that its Realme 16 Pro lineup will be debuting in India soon. The Chinese smartphone maker seems to be focusing on the camera department with the new device, if the teaser image is to be believed. Apart from the focus on photography, the teaser image shows a phone with a slim frame, golden sheen and curved edges to the back.
Realme 16 Pro series: What to expect?
Realme hasn't clarified how many devices will be in the 16 Pro lineup this year or what their names could be. However, if leaks are to be believed, the Realme 16 Pro series could include the 16 Pro and 16 Pro+, with the both the devices tipped to be debuting on 6 January.
If this turns out to be true, it could set up for a face off between two of the oldest rivals in the mid-range segment, Redmi and Realme. The Redmi Note 15 has also been recently confirmed to debut in India and is widely expected to launch on 6 January.
The Realme 16 Pro series has't yet released in China but the 16 Pro had recently been spotted on China's TENAA and MIIT certification websites with the model number RMX5121.
As for the specifications, the Realme 16 Pro is expected to come with a 6.78 inch 144Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772×1272 pixels. On the camera front, the phone could come with a 200MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultra-ide angle lens. The selfie shooter could employ a 50MP lens.
In contrast, the Realme 15 Pro came with 50MP primary sensor, 50MP ultra-wide angle lens and 50MP selfie shooter.
The phone is expected to come with a 7,000mAh battery, following the increasing trend of having bigger batteries on mid-range devices.It could support 80W of wired fast charging.
It could run on realmUI 7 based on Android 16. The upcoming device could come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and also feature and IR blaster. The device is tipped to come in grey, gold and purple colour variants.
The leaks also suggest that the Realme 16 Pro could come with 7.75mm thickness and weigh in at 192g. Recently, images of the Realme 16 Pro box had also begun to pop up on social media but further details from the company about the specs about the device are still awaited.
