Report: How European Leaders Use A Group Chat To Tackle Donald Trump’s Wildest Moments

European leaders have an “informal but active” group messaging chat which they frequently use to talk to each other about President Donald Trump’s latest wild antics, reported Politico.

The chat — reportedly dubbed the “Washington Group” — includes leaders such as the United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

According to the Politico report titled “Trump’s Greenland threats push Europe toward divorcing America,” the leaders “regularly text with each other — often in the same group chat” and have, during Trump’s first year back in office, developed “a well-drilled routine of exchanging messages whenever Trump does something wild and potentially damaging.”

One source told Politico: “When things start moving quickly, it’s hard to do the coordination, and this group [chat] is really effective.” They added: “It tells you a lot about the personal relationships and how they matter.”

The emergence of the reported chat comes amid growing unease in Europe over Trump, who in recent days has dramatically escalated his rhetoric on seizing the semi-autonomous Danish territory of Greenland for the United States.
