Iran launched a salvo of approximately 30 ballistic missiles at Israel on Thursday, striking civilian infrastructure in Tel Aviv and other places. Iranian missiles struck the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, which is a major hospital serving over 1 million residents in southern Israel.

The missile caused extensive structural damage to the hospital. According to reports, over 30 people were injured in the Soroka Medical Center attack.

Following the attack, Soroka halted admissions except for life‑threatening cases. Patients were moved into underground or protected zones within the facility as medical teams assessed and stabilised those with injuries, though many injuries were described as mild to moderate. At least two people were said to be in serious condition.

Israeli media broadcasted visuals showing blown-out windows, thick black smoke rising from the facility as chaos ensued inside the building. Israel’s deputy foreign minister Sharren Haskel shared a video of the destruction inside the hospital.

Israel Vows Payback, Iran Says Missile Missed Target

Israel government vowed to make Iran pay for the “war crime". Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced the strike as the work of “terrorist tyrants" in Tehran, and pledged to “exact the full price".

Defence Minister Israel Katz echoed the sentiment, stating on X that Iran’s actions would make its leaders “accountable," and confirmed orders to escalate strikes on strategic targets across Iran — including Tehran infrastructure and nuclear sites.

Iran, however, said the main target of its missile attack that hit the hospital was an Israeli military and intelligence base, not the health facility.

Meanwhile, on the ground in Israel, the damage was severe and emergency services rushed to secure the hospital and surrounding areas. At least 25 casualties were reported in Israel after the latest Iranian missile attack on Tel Aviv, according to paramedics.

Reports said Iranian missiles also hit civilian infrastructure in Holon and Israel Stock Exchange building in Tel Aviv.
