US President Donald Trump on Saturday stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping was “very happy" with the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most important energy shipping channel.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump also highlighted his upcoming visit to China, expressing optimism about his meeting with the Chinese President.

“President Xi is very happy that the Strait of Hormuz is open and/or rapidly opening. Our meeting in China will be a special one and, potentially, Historic," Trump wrote.

The Republican leader suggested the upcoming meeting with the Chinese leader could lead to meaningful outcomes, adding that he anticipates productive discussions during their time together.

“I look forward to being with President Xi — Much will be accomplished!," he further wrote.
