Two people were shot at by federal agents in Portland on Thursday (2:19 PST local time) during what authorities described as a targeted enforcement operation. In a statement posted on social media, the Department of Homeland Security said US Border Patrol agents attempted to stop a vehicle carrying a Venezuelan national allegedly linked to the Tren de Aragua gang, when the driver tried to run over agents.

An agent then fired a “defensive" shot as the vehicle fled the scene.
