US-Israel-Iran War News Today LIVE Updates: The fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran has come under fresh strain after both sides continued to exchange military strikes on Wednesday.

The US launched new round of strikes against targets in Iran after US President Donald Trump warned that American forces would continue attacking the country amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it began “additional self-defense strikes” against multiple targets inside Iran on the orders of Trump.

“The strikes are in response to Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression,” CENTCOM said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Bahrain activated its missile warning sirens on Thursday and advised residents to seek safe shelter after Iran warned of retaliation following a fresh wave of US airstrikes.

The latest escalation began after the US military announced it carried out “self-defence strikes” against targets in southern Iran. Washington said the action was a response to the downing of a US Apache helicopter by Iranian forces over the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday. Iran responded by launching attacks on US military positions in Bahrain and Jordan. Kuwait also reported coming under Iranian attack.

The exchange marks the most serious challenge yet to the ceasefire announced in April this year.
