'Will Not Accept': Israel Protests As Gaza Committee Adopts Palestinian Authority Symbol

The NCAG replaced its bird logo with the Palestinian Authority's golden eagle, sparking Israeli rejection and reaffirming Israel's stance against PA involvement in post-war Gaza.

The Palestinian technocratic committee, which handles the daily affairs of post-war Gaza in place of Hamas, has replaced its logo with the one used by the Palestinian Authority, as reported by Times of Israel.

The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) unveiled its unique logo, featuring a bird, wearing the colours of the Palestinian flag, when it was established last month.

However, earlier today, the NCAG came up with a new logo, appearing to be identical to that of the Palestinian Authority.

The new logo features a golden eagle looking to its right, with a Palestinian flag on its chest. According to the Times of Israel report, the logo appears to be a subtle attempt by the technocratic committee to associate itself with the Palestinian Authority, despite Israel’s repeated efforts to keep the two bodies separate.

Israel Dismisses PA’s Role In Governing Post-War Gaza

The Israeli government, which has vehemently opposed the role of the Palestinian Authority in governing the post-war Gaza, dismissed the new logo, asserting that Israel will not accept the use of a PA symbol.

According to an official statement from the office of the Israel’s Prime Minister, “The logo of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) which was presented to Israel was entirely different from the one published this evening."

“Israel will not accept the use of a Palestinian Authority symbol; the Palestinian Authority will have no part in the administration of Gaza", it further read.
