US President Donald Trump has hinted at “good news" on the diplomatic front, saying second round of talks with Iran could restart within the next “36 to 72 hours", the New York Post reported on Wednesday.
The report, citing a text message exchange with Trump and sources in Pakistan, said there are signs of progress in efforts to revive negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
Pakistan, which has been mediating between the two sides, is understood to have conveyed optimism about renewed engagement.
“Good news" on a second round of talks could come as early as Friday, the report said, with sources in Islamabad pointing to positive backchannel efforts. When asked about the possibility, Trump responded: “It’s possible! President DJT."
