UK police are investigating a sexual assault at Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham. DCI Rob Routledge urges witnesses to come forward as patrols increase.

The UK police have launched an investigation after a woman was sexually assaulted in a park in Nottingham.

According to The Sun, police was called to Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham, at 7.56pm on Monday by a member of the public who found the woman in her 30s in distress.

The cops have appealed for witnesses and have asked anyone with information to come forward “as soon as possible".

Detective Chief Inspector Rob Routledge, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Public Protection unit, said: “We know these types of incidents are very concerning for the public and I would like to reassure people that we are doing everything we can to investigate this report."

He further said: “Alongside these inquiries, our uniformed colleagues in the neighbourhood team have increased reassurance patrols in the area. If anyone has any concerns, we’d encourage them to approach one of our officers."

“Specially trained officers are supporting the victim as our enquiries continue and every effort is being made to locate the person responsible," he said.

DCI Routledge added: “I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information that could help the investigation to come forward as soon as possible and call us on 101, quoting incident number 617 of 19 January 2026."
