Hunter Biden Says Trump's Never-Ending Laptop Obsession Is Just Another Epstein Distraction

Hunter Biden isn’t surprised that Donald Trump has turned to one of his time-tested tactics while trying to shift the public’s focus away from questions about the president’s links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In a new interview with journalist Andrew Callaghan’s “Channel 5” YouTube show released on Tuesday, the former first son broke down why he thinks Trump is rehashing his personal laptop scandal as he dismisses speculation about Epstein.

As news reports paint a richer picture of Trump’s relationship with the disgraced financier, the president has been revisiting grudges from his first term, wading into culture wars and resurrecting outrage over what he called Biden’s “laptop from hell.”

While speaking to Callaghan from his Malibu garage-slash-art studio, Biden said Trump’s strategy was predictable, if not exhausting.

“We talked about this ad nauseam,” the painter and memoirist said of the controversy that sprang from a computer he abandoned at a Delaware repair shop, reportedly sometime in 2019.

Though tabloids and right-wing operatives claimed the laptop was full of evidence of the Biden family’s corrupt dealings, the device was mostly a trove of salacious and embarrassing personal material from when Hunter Biden was in the depths of drug addiction.

Pointing out how a distraction pops up “like clockwork” any time Trump “gets in an uncomfortable position,” the former first son shrugged at the fact that the laptop seems to be the president’s “favorite go-to conspiracy.”

To him, it seems like a game of “how many hours” Trump can get people talking about the outrage du jour instead of the Epstein scandal or America’s apparent descent into autocracy.

And once one topic runs out, Biden said, Trump always “moves on to something else.”
