Iran’s deputy foreign minister Saeed Khatibzadeh on Saturday took a swipe at US President Donald Trump, saying Washington’s messaging on Iran has been inconsistent and confusing.

“The American side tweets a lot, talks a lot. Sometimes confusing, sometimes… contradictory," Khatibzadeh told journalists on the sidelines of a diplomatic forum in Antalya, Turkey.

Remarks amid rising pressure

The comments came after the United States warned of fresh strikes if no agreement is reached with Tehran, as both sides signal progress but continue to differ on key issues.
